Pre-Christmas in Texas

December was a very busy month for us. It started with Joel being sick and then I got sick, which wasn't so pleasant when you're pregnant. Praise God, Audrey never caught it. Joel had to travel to Houston for work early December so Audrey and I tagged along to visit family and friends in Texas. While he was in Houston, we spent some time in Austin with my family. It was fun to be with them. Audrey, of course got spoiled by my parents. After a short stay with them, we headed back to Houston to be with Joel and to stay with his sister's family. While in Houston, we threw Joel a surprise 4oth birthday party. It was great! He definitely didn't see it coming and enjoyed being with family and close friends. Then we were on our way to Lufkin to spend the remaining time with his parents. On the way, we stopped at our friend's wedding and there we got to catch up with more sweet friends. While in Lufkin, Audrey showed off to her grandparents how super smart she is and got to play with more cousins. It was a very sweet time in Texas, but when it came time to leave, we were ready to be back home, especially Audrey, who was by then completely overwhelmed with all the traveling and crowds.
